What's going on with you?
33 weeks pregnant, you should be careful not to overwork yourself
emotionally or physically. Other than regular short slow walks around
your neighborhood or a swim, you should spend your time resting as
much as possible.
Treat your body with
kindness at every opportunity. You may get a pregnancy pillow to
help you get comfy when you rest and enjoy healthy snack of fruits
and nuts whenever you feel hungry. Stay well hydrated by drinking
plenty of water. You should also engage in non physical hobbies
that interest you like watching a nice movie or reading a good book
while you rest.
Unfortunately, some women
experience swelling (edema) during this week mostly around the feet.
Try and keep your feet up as much as you can to reduce any possible
swelling. You should visit your doctor if the swelling in your wrists
and hands also comes with pain and or numbness. This may be a sign
of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome which your doctor should assist with and
provide relief for.
Now while this period
is an exciting time as you think of delivering and holding your
baby soon, don't forget to register yourself at the hospital in
time before you go into labour. Now would be a good time to ensure
that you get registered.
Lastly, you should have signed up for prenatal classes in your area.
These classes will prepare you for labour and birth emotionally
by giving you knowledge of what to expect when the time arrives.
